About This Expedition

The Himalayas are not simply mountains. They are the roof of the world — a cathedral of rock, snow and ice whose power to move the human spirit has been recognised for thousands of years across every culture that has lived in their shadow.

India's Himalayan regions offer some of the finest and most accessible trekking in the world, combining dramatic mountain scenery with fascinating local cultures, ancient Buddhist monasteries, alpine meadows carpeted with wildflowers, and horizons dominated by some of the highest peaks on earth. This eight-day expedition is designed for adventurous travellers who are physically fit and ready to challenge themselves in one of the world's most extraordinary landscapes.

Based in the stunning mountain state of Himachal Pradesh, the route takes you through rhododendron forests, past glacial rivers, across high mountain passes and into traditional Himalayan villages where life has changed little in centuries. Your knowledgeable trekking guide — a certified mountaineer with decades of experience in these ranges — will lead you safely through the terrain while sharing insights into local flora, fauna, geology and culture.

All camping and lodging equipment is provided, and a dedicated camp crew manages all logistics so you can focus entirely on the experience. A mountain chef prepares three hot, nutritious meals every day using fresh local ingredients supplemented by lightweight expedition provisions. The campsites are selected for their extraordinary views — there is nothing quite like waking to the sight of sunrise turning the Himalayan peaks golden above your tent.

This expedition is suitable for fit adults with previous trekking experience. Altitudes reach up to 4,000 metres, so participants should be prepared for the effects of reduced oxygen. Full acclimatisation days are built into the itinerary, and our guides are trained in altitude sickness recognition and first aid. This is a genuine adventure — challenging, rewarding and utterly unforgettable.

Begin training at least 8 weeks before your trek. Focus on cardiovascular fitness (running, cycling, swimming) and leg strength (squats, lunges, stair climbing). Practice day hikes with a loaded backpack on hilly terrain.

Consult your doctor before booking if you have any cardiac, respiratory or blood pressure conditions. Get all necessary vaccinations (Hepatitis A, Typhoid). Consider altitude sickness medication (Acetazolamide) — consult your GP. Ensure your travel insurance covers high-altitude trekking and emergency evacuation.

Mobile phone signal is limited or non-existent in the trekking zones. Our guide carries a satellite communication device for emergencies. Bring a power bank for device charging. Download offline maps before departure. A camera with good battery life is highly recommended.

Altitude Sickness

Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) is a risk above 2,500m. Symptoms include headache, nausea, dizziness and fatigue. Our guides are trained to recognise AMS and will descend any participant showing serious symptoms immediately. Acclimatisation days are built into the itinerary.

Weather Conditions

Himalayan weather can change rapidly. Our guides monitor conditions closely and carry emergency shelter. All participants must follow guide instructions regarding route modifications or early descent. Expeditions may be curtailed for safety reasons without refund eligibility.

Emergency Evacuation

Our guides carry satellite phones and first aid kits. Helicopter evacuation can be arranged in medical emergencies (additional cost — ensure your travel insurance covers this). The nearest hospital is in Manali, approximately 3–6 hours from the trekking area.

Insurance Requirement

Travel insurance covering high-altitude trekking (minimum 4,000m) and emergency medical evacuation is mandatory for this expedition. Participants without adequate insurance cannot join the trek.

Moderate fitness and some previous hiking experience is recommended. You should be comfortable walking 12–18 km per day on uneven terrain for 5–7 hours. If you are unsure about your fitness level, contact us and we will advise.
